Oscar’s Orchestra

Music has been banned from the world forever by evil dictator Thadius Vent!

Oscar, a plucky grand piano, and his band of illegal instruments have formed a resistance movement to bring music back! Holed up in the disused music store owned by Mr Crotchet and his granddaughter Rebecca, Oscar, Eric the Triangle, Trevor the Tuba, Monty the Violin and Sylvia the flute, fight the daily fight against Thadius Vent and his henchmen, Lucius and Tank.

Some of the world’s greatest pieces of classical music – from Flight of the Bumblebee to The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba and Wagner’s Ring Cycle – form the soundtrack to their many adventures!

Oscar was played the late Dudley Moore – and then subsequently by David Holt.

A Collingwood Production, based on an idea by Jan Younghusband, for BBC, Quintus and Warner Music.
